Dr Angelo Izzo

Angelo is full professor (Pharmacology) at the Department of Pharmacy, School of Medicine and Surgery, University of Naples Federico II. During his scientific carrier, Angelo spent period of time undertaking research in France (Inserm U200), Australia (Flinders University) and UK (University of Exeter). He holds relevant Editorial positions, including Senior Editor (BJP), co-Editor-in-Chief (Phytotherapy Research) and speciality Chief-Editor (Frontiers in Pharmacology). His research interests range from the gastrointestinal pharmacology (cannabinoids, TRP channels) to the experimental and clinical pharmacology of nutraceuticals, including herb-drug interactions. Angelo has published over 200 papers (cited over 10000 times) and has an h index of 60 (Scopus, July 2017). Angelo has been identified by Thomson Reuters as “Highly Cited Researcher” in Pharmacology (2014, ISI) forr the works published in the 2002-2012 period.
